FRACTAL CITIES

Fractal City is a  photographic and video project, based on the landscape architecture of the territory, which combines art and design. A personal and introspective way to see the architecture and the territory across my personal intervention searching for new possibilities and dimensions. It is presented as an installation, and it comes out with photographs as an axis and the video as an amplification of the scenic language.

Video Art Installation - Inspired by Barcelona’s Architecture

This project captures the essence of Barcelona’s architecture, transforming it into a moving visual story. I've processed the photographs taken for this installation, blending them with a unique sound and visual language. I invite you to immerse yourself in this experience—if possible, put on headphones and let yourself be carried away by the journey within each image and sound.

Fractal City is a  photographic and video project based on the landscape architecture of the territory, which combines art and design. A personal and introspective way to see the architecture and the territory across my personal intervention searching for new possibilities and dimensions. It is presented as an installation, and it comes out with photographs as an axis and the video as an amplification of the scenic language.

At the core of my artistic practice lies an unbreakable fascination with urban architectural structures. Since 2007, I have embarked on a visual journey, exploring cities in search of buildings that resonate through their design, colour, material, or texture. This quest is independent of the building's notoriety or the structure's designer; it is a tribute to the hidden beauty in the static everydayness of our built environment.

The focus of this exploration is "Fractal City.". Through my camera's lens, I appropriate and transform architectural images into works that blur the lines between the two-dimensional and the three-dimensional. This process not only reconceptualises urban space but also invites the viewer into other parallel universes of fractal reality. It is a visual game designed to awaken curiosity, stimulate imagination, and unleash a collective desire to find beauty in the familiar and everyday.

My technique encompasses a diverse range of approaches, from photographic collage to video post-production with motion graphics. While preserving the original colors, I alter the forms to reflect my personal interpretation. Drawing inspiration from the aesthetics of fractals, mandalas, and the complexity of nature, my work captures the hypnotic symmetry and aesthetic resonance of buildings, transforming them into expressions of organic beauty.

My artistic search allows access to dimensions where the impossible becomes part of our created reality.

Fractal City is more than a collection of images and videos; it is an invitation to reconsider our urban environment. What at first glance might suggest form are in reality inhabited and transformed spaces. By decontextualising their daily functionality, they are revealed as scenarios of fractal beauty.

"Fractal City" is, therefore, a work in constant evolution, a project that refuses to close doors to new forms of expression.

Fractal City reflects on the intersection of art and architecture, a testament to how visual exploration can unveil hidden layers of beauty in the structure and form of our cities, inviting viewers to see the urban world through my unique and transformative vision.
